Electronic House's 2013 Home of the Year contest celebrates the best in home technology and integration in 13 categories. Recently, they selected two home theaters that are controlled by Cinemar for the Gold award in two separate categories. 

Best Home Theater $25,000 to $75,000 - GOLD WINNER

Cinemar was the Gold winner for the Best Home Theater in the $25,000 to $75,000 category. Mario Cascio, CEO of Cinemar, personally designed and built the home theater to help showcase their software and provide demonstrations.  The theater features an 11.2 surround sound system, D-Box motion simulator, a hand painted star ceiling and a virtual movie poster that displays the currently playing movie using an LED TV ala MainLobby.  Color changing LED lighting is used to not only light the interior of the room, but also the tray ceiling and step lights. The Cinemar theater highlights many control features of the software such as climate, lighting, video switching, movie selection and audio/video device control. The entire build is documented for other enthusiasts on the AVSForum. The room can be controlled from any where in the world and from just about any device including an iPad, smart phone or inwall touch screen.

Cinemar designed this custom MainLobby scene to display the currently playing movie poster on a 40" LEDTV to greet visitors before they enter the theater. The dynamic movie poster also displays the start and end time of the movie including a now playing trackhead. Guests also can view the rating, production year, aspect and run time at the bottom of the display. Best Home Theater $75,000 to $150,000 - GOLD WINNER

Max Hockenberry's Theo Kalomirakis themed home theater also won Gold for the Best Home Theater in the $75,000 to $150,000 category. Hockenberry has three Sony 400-disc Blu-ray changers. With that many movies, Hockenberry needed a movie management system capable of cataloging and selecting movies. Cinemar's interface provides easy access to all his movies with many filtering options. Cinemar also allows Hockenberry to manage his digital music collection and lighting scenes from his iPad and his new Windows Surface Pro tablet.
